Protect your investment instead of replacing your tank
If a leak occurs, part of your tank contents — and thus also part of your working capital — will drain away without you noticing. A waste of money, plus a heavy burden due to the mandatory clean-up of the contamination caused. Replacing the tank means mandatory cleaning-up costs and high structural costs — and the law states that an unused tank may not just remain in the ground.
Cibor has an alternative for you: converting your existing tank into a double-walled tank, possibly repairing it, or lining it. After processing, you safely continue using your existing tank. You enhance your image as an environmentally-friendly company — your tank is renewed, fully in accordance with the current environmental legislation, and still affordable.
Double wall
1. Double-wall leak detection
Cibor installs leak detection systems with a double tank wall and converts your buried single-walled tanks into double-walled tanks.

The DOPA process
How is the DOPA system installed?
For petrol tanks and tanks for the storage of chemicals, Cibor offers the DOPA system: a permanent leak detection system with double barrier, installed step by step.
Cleaning and inspection
After cleaning and degassing, the tank is internally inspected.
Mechanical reinforcement
In case of serious corrosion, a protective glass-fibre reinforced lining is applied.
Preserving lining
The inner wall is conditioned, sandblasted and dedusted — then a 2-component lining with extremely high chemical resistance is applied with a special Airless spray device.
Second inner wall
A special spacer creates a gap; glass-fibre is laminated to it so a 2nd artificial inner wall is created.
Vacuum test up to 800 mbar
A vacuum of up to 800 mbar in the gap checks the airtightness of both walls.
Conductive finish
A final layer with high chemical resistance also guarantees electrical conductivity for later safe use.
DOPA system
2. Coating and double-wall conversion of petrol and chemical tanks
The integrity of the tank is permanently checked by an Eex-leak detection device that continuously monitors the underpressure in the gap. As this is a standing vacuum, the underpressure must remain the same, day in day out, year in year out — false alarms are ruled out. The alarm is only activated if one of the two walls leaks; contamination is not possible provided one of the two walls remains tight.
This system has also been repeatedly used to re-equip double-walled steel tanks with a defective outer wall — so the tanks did not have to be dug up. The DOPA system was developed in Switzerland and has proved its worth for more than 25 years across Europe. The oldest Belgian installation dates from 1994, certified more than 10 times by SGS, with prototype approval for Flanders and widely used in Brussels and Wallonia.
